The Reverend Canon Jack King
Director
Jack has served as the rector of Apostles Anglican Church since 2012, having joined the pastoral staff in 2007. He has established spiritual formation as a central ministry of the parish. He was recently appointed as a Canon Pastor in the Anglican Diocese of the South to offer pastoral and spiritual care for Anglican clergy.
Jack has offered spiritual direction since 2010. He began learning the art of spiritual direction at Duke Divinity School, where he received a Master of Divinity degree in 2004. His greatest interests in spiritual theology are the desert fathers, the Jesus Prayer, rule of life, and, of course, Benedictine spirituality.
The Reverend Canon John Roop
John Roop serves as assisting priest at Apostles Anglican Church (May 2015 – present) and as Canon Theologian for the Anglican Diocese of the South (created March 2021). In addition to his sacramental role, his primary areas of ministry are Christian Formation (teaching), Pastoral Care, and Spiritual Direction which he has offered at Apostles since 2015. He has extensive experience in education, having taught in public schools for twenty-six years and in church for nearly fifty years. John considers Anglican spiritually foundational but incorporates elements of both Roman Catholic and Orthodox theology and practice.
Robin Hoig

Robin continues to grow in her experience of spiritual practices including silence, breath prayer and rule of life. She is influenced by the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola and other ancient spiritual writings as well as more modern writers such as Madeleine L’Engle, Frederick Buechner, Henri Nouwen and Fr. Stephen Freeman.
