The St Benedict Center welcomes Revd Beckmann, Author, Priest, and C.S. Lewis Scholar, to present our Autumn 2022 Lectio Series, Beyond Narnia: C.S. Lewis, Imagination, and Spiritual Formation. Beckmann has studied and taught on the writings of C.S. Lewis for more than 30 years. He is the former director of the The C.S. Lewis Study Center at The Kilns, C.S. Lewis’ Oxford residence, and writes regularly for the C.S. Lewis Foundation blog. Beckmann is an ordained priest in the Anglican Church in North America and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Christian Study Center of Chattanooga.
Revd Beckmann will deliver three addresses on the place of the imagination in C.S. Lewis’ writings, both fiction and non-fiction. An outline of the lectures is as follows:
- Friday, October 21, 7pm: Lewis’ Life and Fiction
- Saturday, October 22, 9am: The Nature of the Imagination, Dialogues with Owen Barfield, and Radical Orthodoxy
- Saturday, October 22, 10.30: The Imagination and Christian Hope
A wine and cheese reception will follow the Friday evening lecture. Coffee and refreshments will be available for the Saturday morning sessions.
